Love: The Greatest of Allნიმუში

Love: The Greatest of All

DAY 1 OF 10

Your Love Needs to be Stronger Than Your Faith

“Three things will last forever–faith, hope, and love–and the greatest of these is love.”
-1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT

Love is the GOAT – Love is the “Greatest of All Time”

Many sports fans debate who the GOAT (The Greatest of All Time) is. In basketball, some say Michael Jordan, some say LeBron James, and some say Kobe Bryant, among many other names. It’s all debatable, but in the eyes of God, love is the force that is the greatest of all time.

At the end of 1 Corinthians 13, Paul ends the chapter saying that yes, faith, hope, and love are all important, but love takes the cake! One of the definitions of the word greatest in this verse is stronger. So, love needs to be stronger than hope and faith. We need to ensure we are developing love more than the other two.

We need to develop our faith to be able to move mountains in our lives. After all, Hebrews 11:6 NLT says, “And it is impossible to please God without faith.” However, just because faith pleases God doesn’t mean it’s the only thing that pleases God.

“Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
-John 13:35 NLT

God’s number one priority is people. More than anything else, He wants people to choose life and not death. He wants them to spend eternity in Heaven and not Hell.

God wants love to be our calling card. Love is the difference-maker. God is pleased with my faith, but people are moved by love. I am not saying you need to be a people-pleaser, but when you show love, it stands out so much that everyone sees it without trying.

The Best Way to Increase Your Faith Is to Increase Your Acts of Love

Whatever acts of love you currently perform, take them to another level. Ask God to show you what He would have you do. Your faith needs to be strong, but your love needs to be stronger. Over the next few days, let’s see what love looks like and how we should treat people.

Confession Today

“Today, I will grow in my love toward people. Love matters more than anything else. Love drives my faith, and I need faith to move mountains in my life. Because love is the calling card of God, I will show love to the people who need it the most. They will see who God is through me.”
