More Than Just a Story - the Book of Johnნიმუში

Today's scripture reading begins at the end. It begins at the end of the encounter Jesus had with “the woman at the well.”

I’ve recently been reading an excellent book by the famous Christian author Dr. David Jeremiah entitled The Coming Golden Age. He does a wonderful job of laying out the biblical prophecies about the “End Times.” Reading all about the end of God’s encounter with the devil and about the New Heaven and the New Earth is a great way to bring hope into our current messy world.

Knowing “the end of the story,” where the devil loses and Jesus wins:

• Knowing that the day is coming when all who are followers of Jesus Christ will live in perfect harmony with each other.
• Knowing that the New Heaven and the New Earth is a place without illness, where our bodies will be healthy, strong, and full of energy forever.
• Knowing that the disappointments and stresses of our current existence will come to an end and be replaced by every imaginable wonderful thing—and more!

So go ahead! Begin at the end, see the hope of the future, and know that what lies ahead is abundantly better than what we now have. We know the end of the story—and we win!
