THE UNBREAKABLE BOY Bible Reading Plan

DAY 1 OF 5

You’ve never met anyone like Austin. Born with both a rare brittle-bone disease and autism, he’s a walking miracle. But what really sets Austin apart isn’t his challenges; it’s his heart. His joyous, curious, and wonderfully unique perspective on life inspires everyone around him. For Austin, the world is full of possibilities. Every milkshake is the best milkshake. Every day is the best day. Austin has the ability to embrace each moment, no matter how simple.

God created us with intention and purpose. Our value doesn’t depend on meeting others’ expectations—it’s found in being exactly who He made us to be. And yet, being uniquely “you” can be hard. Austin knows what it’s like to feel misunderstood. His dad, Scott, reflects, “I spent most of my son’s life trying to figure him out so I could fix him, but it turns out he wasn’t broken at all.”

Maybe you’ve felt like that—like people don’t really understand you. Or maybe there are things about yourself you’ve never fully understood. Here’s the good news: God knows you. He sees every part of you, even the parts no one else can. And He loves you just as you are.

The Bible tells us in Psalm 139 that God has known you from the very beginning. He knit you together with care, purpose, and love. You are not an accident or an afterthought; you are His masterpiece. And just like Austin, you are one of a kind.

God didn’t make you to fit into someone else’s mold. He made you to be you. You are God’s creation, wonderfully and fearfully made.

  • What’s one thing that makes you unique? How do you see God’s hand in it?
  • Have you ever felt misunderstood or unseen? How does knowing that God fully knows you change your perspective?
  • Think about a moment when your individuality made a difference in someone's life. How did God use that moment?
