The Rebuild: Matthew 5-7ნიმუში

Ever struggled to pray? Maybe you’ve thought, “I wish I prayed more”. Or as you’ve lain in bed to pray, no words come. If so, you’re not alone—and there’s good news. Jesus actually teaches us how to pray.
The Lord’s Prayer isn’t just something to recite; it’s a model that has shaped Christian prayer for 2,000 years. In it, Jesus gives us a simple but powerful framework:
- Start by acknowledging who God is – Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
- Ask for your needs – not just wants, but real dependence on God.
- Recognize your need for forgiveness and ongoing deliverance – we’re all a work in progress.
- Pray in community – notice the language: Our Father, give us today our daily bread. Prayer isn’t meant to be a solo journey.
- Commit to forgiveness – because God has forgiven us, we’re called to do the same.
Today, ponder this: How can you use the Lord’s prayer to guide your prayers to God this week? Maybe try praying the Lord’s Prayer with a friend? Jesus didn’t just tell us to pray; He showed us how. Let’s follow His lead.

About this Plan

“You have heard it said…” In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus begins to rebuild and reform our understanding of life in His Kingdom. In Matthew 5-7, He challenges the religious traditions of His day and the competing worldviews of our own. His words are a call to transformation—a new way to live under His reign. As Jesus lays the foundation for His Kingdom, we are invited to tear down false beliefs and build our lives on His truth.
