United in Purpose: Navigating Finances as a Christian Couple

DAY 2 OF 5

Welcome to Day two where we’ll discuss money as a tool for God’s purpose.

Keep in mind: money itself is neither good nor evil—it’s a tool. But when we allow money to take center stage in our hearts, it can lead to stress, conflict, and even spiritual harm, as warned in 1 Timothy 6:10. Yet, when we view money as a resource entrusted to us by God, it transforms into a means for fulfilling His purpose, blessing others, and strengthening our faith.

God’s design is for us to use money wisely, giving Him control over our finances, and prioritizing His kingdom. Proverbs 3:9 reminds us to honor God with our wealth, acknowledging that all we have comes from Him. This act of surrendering our finances back to God leads to freedom—freedom from the anxiety that money can bring and freedom to live generously.

Generosity shifts our focus from self-centered goals to God-centered priorities. When we align our finances with His purpose, we not only meet the needs of others but also reflect His love and goodness.

Reflection Questions:

How can we keep God at the center of our finances?

What’s one way we can bless others with the resources we’ve been given?

Let us open our hearts and clear our minds:

Father God, we acknowledge that all we have comes from You. Help us see money as a tool to honor You and serve others. Give us wisdom and unity in our finances so that we can reflect Your love, generosity, and purpose. Guide our hearts away from stress and toward trust in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

See you tomorrow for day three!
