Seek Him In Worship

If our Seeking God and Worship were based solely on feelings, we wouldn’t always worship. How many times have we not felt like worshipping or seeking Him, but simply sought and worshipped Him because we understood the necessity of it for our spirit and soul?

This verse, Psalms 63:1, was written by David when He was fleeing enemies through a parched and uninhabited area. His need to worship the Lord was as urgent as a physical one. It’s easy to understand the importance of drinking and eating, but recognising our soul’s need for sustenance and nourishment from our Saviour is equally crucial. Even when we don’t feel like it, often, we find breakthrough and healing.

I will seek you—telling myself that I will seek the Lord no matter what.

In a dry and weary land—I relate to this as I have often felt dry and weary throughout many seasons of life, yet I have still sought the Lord through it all.

Where there is no water—when there is no sustenance, I will seek the Lord.

Reflect

There are times when we don’t feel like worshipping Him, but as we do worship and seek Him, we realise we need Him the most. Just like the deer pants for water, we need to recognise that our souls need Him in those moments.

Prayer

So, set aside a time during your day today and pray. Father, through every season, every day, and every moment, whether I feel like it or not, I will fight for my Hallelujah and seek You always. Amen.
