What Is “New Creation?”

Yesterday, we learned that Jesus came to usher in the Kingdom of Heaven. So, what would this new reality, where Jesus reigns supreme, and man and God's realms are reunited, where we are brought back to the way creation was originally intended, look like? Before we look at what it looks like, let’s step back and look at it holistically.

In Ephesians, Paul gives us an image of how the realm will be ruled. We are given this description of Jesus sitting on the throne, ruling over the new creation and eternity. But He's not alone. We are there with Him! It says we were “seated” with Christ for all eternity (Ephesians 2:6). This is a realm where God and man coexist. So what does that look like?

Revelation 21 gives us a visual. John, the follower of Jesus who wrote Revelation, was given a vision by God of what would happen in the end. Part of that is a description of the new creation or unified realms. It’s a picture of ONE space, us and God together. A space where only good lives. A space with no tears, no sin, and no pain. A space where creation is set right—the way God initially designed it to be—the realms united.
