Think about something you keep close to you, an object you’ve moved or carried from place to place because of its value. Now, reflect on where mentoring relationships fall in your life. Do you prioritize the people God brings into your life as much as that cherished object?

Jesus began his ministry by calling these young men to follow him, not waiting until he’d completed miracles or preached sermons. Jesus made relational mentorship a priority right from the start, inviting disciples to join him as he began his mission.

Jesus, thank you for showing us how important it is to share our lives with others. Help me to prioritize relationships and be intentional about inviting others into my life, guiding them as you have guided me. Amen.
