Spiritual Warfare's 3 BattlesSample
DAY THREE
BATTLE #3 “This Present Darkness”
The apostle Paul reminds us that our battles are not against “flesh and blood.” They are not against a brother or sister. One of the enemy’s greatest tactics is to instigate conflict between you and someone else. It is his goal to bring division within your home, your family, your marriage, your relationships, and even your church. If he can cause rifts, his work is complete.
Perhaps today you find yourself at odds with someone, or maybe you and your spouse are fighting over the smallest things. Maybe you're caught in the middle of a church disagreement where two sides are at each other’s throats. This is what Paul meant by “this present darkness.” It’s the enemy attempting to interfere with anything God wants to bless and flourish. Our battle is not against a brother or sister; they are on our side! The devil seeks to create “friendly fire” among the body of Christ. If you let him, he will turn a brother or sister into a greater enemy than himself.
Today, make it your mission to keep the enemy away from your home, your marriage, your children, your relationships, and your church! Take the authority Jesus gave us in Luke 10:19, when He said, “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” Stand in that authority now—rebuke the enemy from your life, and renounce any access you've given him. Repent before the Lord and confess any wrong you've done or any bitterness you’ve held against a brother or sister. Don’t give the enemy any more access. Put him and his tactics under the obedience of God’s Word!
Make this the year you walk in freedom through Jesus! He has given us the tools and the position to do so. Spiritual warfare is real, and the battle continues. Yet, our victory is found in Jesus Christ through His shed blood on the cross and His resurrection from the dead. Walk in your victory by handing the battle over to the Lord! Deuteronomy 20:4 says, “For the Lord your God is the One who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you victory.”
WARFARE PRAYER OF THE DAY:
Father God, thank You for the victory we have in You. Thank You, Jesus, for the authority You have given us over this present darkness. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for fighting in our place when the enemy comes against us. Today, I come against the enemy and claim victory over my past, my hurts, my sin, and my failures. I call for restoration in my home, in my marriage, in my relationships, and in my church. Lord Jesus, rebuke the enemy on my behalf, so I may once again walk in Your presence and align with Your will. Thank You, Lord, for freeing me. Today, I will make things right with You and with others, so that victory will be mine. In Jesus' name, amen!
