Journey With Jesus 365

DAY 115 OF 365

“But know this: if the master of the house had known at what hour the thief would come, he would have stayed awake and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore, you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect”. Picture how attentively a homeowner watches when he expects a thief—every little sound makes him alert, thinking someone might be at the door or window. His entire being is on high alert, eyes and ears fully engaged.

This is the level of watchfulness we should have regarding the coming of the Lord as if we knew He would return tonight. This complements the parable of the ten talents in the next chapter, emphasizing the importance of staying active in the Lord’s work until He returns. We are called to be diligent—sharing the message of Christ, serving, and loving others—all the way until the day the Lord calls us home.

The Word of God reassures us, “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). God promises to continue His work in us, sustaining us through every trial and tribulation until He brings us to be with Him in the clouds.

How diligently are you serving the Lord and fulfilling His mission while awaiting His return? Are there areas where you could be more active in sharing Christ’s love and message?

How diligently are you serving the Lord and fulfilling His mission while awaiting His return? Are there areas where you could be more active in sharing Christ’s love and message?

Do you trust that God will continue His good work in you through all circumstances? How can you hold onto this promise during times of trial or uncertainty?
