Living in Increase (Part 5) - Increase in Faith

DAY 12 OF 28

Prince of Peace

The final characteristic of God that we will look at together is the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 talks about the Messiah coming to earth, Jesus Christ. It is important to note that Jesus is a part of the Godhead, three in one. This means that God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three in one. Therefore, if God is the God of Peace, then Jesus is the Son of Peace.

I love how the angels say in Luke 2 that there is “peace on earth” after Jesus is born (Luke 2:14). Jesus’s birth brought peace to the earth because He is the Prince of Peace. Peace is not just a byproduct of God’s presence in our lives; it’s who He is.

Now that we have peace through the heart of God, we have authority over the enemy! As Romans 16:20 says, “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.” Peace is how we overcome the enemy, and it is a vital characteristic of our God.

As we see God as our Prince of Peace, we realize He only wants peace for us. God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). He does not hate you or cause harm. God does not delight in seeing you troubled, afraid, or worried.

Instead, He is working in everything for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28)! His peace will “guard [our] hearts and minds as [we] live in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7) and see Him as our Prince of Peace!
