Journey Through the Book of John

DAY 19 OF 21

It Is Finished

The crucifixion of Christ reveals the depth of His love and sacrifice for our salvation. In His final moments, He proclaims, “It is finished,” signifying the completion of His mission to atone for sin. This statement carries great weight; it means completed down to the last detail—fully accomplished and comprehensively fulfilled. Take to heart that His death on the cross was for you. As you reflect on His suffering, consider the weight of your sins that He bore on the cross. This act of love is a powerful reminder of the grace that covers us. His willingness to endure the cross for our salvation is a profound reminder of His grace. This is the good news of the Gospel—that there is nothing else we must do to earn our redemption. Receive this gift today as you meditate on this truth.

Live in gratitude for His sacrifice. Share His message of redemption with a world in need of hope and healing. His sacrifice has changed everything, and we have the privilege of proclaiming that truth! Declare today, “I am free because of the finished work of Christ!” Spend time in prayer, thanking Him for His sacrifice and the freedom it brings. Although this chapter is heavy to think about, we know the end of the story. That Jesus’ death was just the beginning of our victory!
