Your Identity in Christ

DAY 2 OF 3

Threefold being

You now know that you and I are made ‘capable’ to dwell in the Kingdom of God. That Jesus made it possible for us to be born again and to see and enter into the Kingdom of God.

What does that mean for our identity in Christ?

Something that the world can’t give you.

You have become a new creation. The old has passed away, and everything has become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

You were lost, but now you are found.

You were bound, but now you are free.

You were dead, but now you are alive.

You were sin, but now you are the righteousness of God.

You were a slave, but now you are a son.

You were darkness, but now you are light.

What fantastic news this is!

You are made completely new, holy, pure, and spotless.

The question is, ‘where’ did you become that?

As God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are one, the Trinity but one, so you also are a threefold being, but one person.

For you have a spirit, soul, and a body (1 Thessalonians 5:23).
A threefold being, but one.

Your ‘flesh’ is the ‘body’.
When you look at your outward appearance, not much has changed.
Your body still looks the same after the rebirth.

Your ‘soul’ is your ‘sensory’ man.
That which you feel, hear, taste, smell, and see forms your mind. That is your soul. That is still the same after your rebirth.

What has become completely new is your ‘spirit.’
It ‘was’ dead, it ‘was’ in darkness, it ‘was’ infected with sin, it ‘was’ your sinful nature.
But now you are born ‘again’!

You have now received the ‘nature’ of Christ.

Your reborn spirit is identical to the nature of Jesus. God now sees you ‘complete’ in Christ (Colossians 2:10).

So that immediately deals with insecurity, rejection, the bad opinions of others, and your own distorted self-image.

If He says you are ‘complete,’ then that is what you are! Amen?

So don’t let anyone convince you that you ‘aren’t good enough’ yet and have to do all kinds of things to be loved by the Father.

Don’t tell yourself that there are all kinds of things wrong with you: You are complete!

Take a moment to tell yourself:

I am complete in Christ! I am a beloved child of God!

Amen?
