Lost Kings | Leadership in Strength, Love, and Wisdom

DAY 1 OF 7

In the journey of becoming a great leader, the foundation lies in the pursuit of wisdom. Proverbs 4:7 clearly instructs us to seek wisdom and understanding above all else. Wisdom is not merely an accumulation of knowledge but a deep understanding of life from God’s perspective. As leaders, our decisions and actions must be guided by this divine wisdom, which enables us to navigate the complexities of life and leadership with clarity and purpose.

The Bible offers numerous examples of leaders who sought wisdom above all else. Solomon, when given the chance to ask God for anything, chose wisdom. In 1 Kings 3:9, Solomon prays, "So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong." His choice pleased God, and as a result, Solomon became known as the wisest king who ever lived. His wisdom not only benefited his own life but also blessed the entire nation of Israel. This teaches us that when we prioritize wisdom, we can lead others effectively and make a lasting impact.

As modern-day leaders, we must recognize that true wisdom comes from God. James 1:5 promises, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." This assurance encourages us to approach God with confidence, knowing that He is eager to provide the wisdom we need. In our daily decisions, whether big or small, we can seek God’s guidance and trust that He will lead us in the right direction.

Reflect on the areas of your life where you need more wisdom. It could be in your family, career, ministry, or personal growth. Commit these areas to God in prayer, asking Him to grant you the wisdom and understanding necessary to lead well. Remember, the pursuit of wisdom is not a one-time event but a lifelong journey. Proverbs 2:6-7 reminds us, "For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless." As we continuously seek God’s wisdom, we are assured of His protection and guidance.

The foundation of leadership is built upon the pursuit of wisdom. By prioritizing wisdom, we align ourselves with God’s will and are equipped to lead with discernment, compassion, and strength. Let us commit to daily seeking God’s wisdom, trusting that He will provide the understanding we need to navigate life’s challenges. As we grow in wisdom, we become better leaders, capable of making decisions that honor God and bless those we lead.
