In His Image: Discover Your True Identity

DAY 2 OF 7

God is Love

One of the most profound and foundational truths in the Bible is that God is love (1 John 4:16). This isn’t just an attribute of God; it’s His very essence. Every action He takes, every decision He makes flows from His love. When we understand that God is love, we start to see ourselves differently. We are not defined by our past, our failures, or the opinions of others—we are defined by the love of our Creator.

I remember a time in my life when I felt unworthy and unloved. I believed that I had to earn love or prove my worth, whether through success or pleasing others. But one day, God revealed to me that His love wasn’t something I had to earn—it was freely given. This truth changed everything for me. I no longer saw myself through the lens of rejection or inadequacy. I began to see myself as God saw me—deeply loved and cherished.

When you truly grasp that God’s love is the foundation of your identity, it shifts your entire perspective. You are no longer striving for approval because you already have it. You no longer live in fear of rejection because God’s love is unwavering. This love becomes the anchor that holds you steady in every storm.

Today, let God’s love remind you of who you truly are. You are not defined by the world’s standards, but by the unchanging, unconditional love of God. His love is what gives you value and purpose.

Reflection Prompt:
How has God’s love shaped your view of yourself? Take a moment to reflect on areas where you need to embrace His love more fully.
