Paid in Full

DAY 2 OF 4

Jesus Paid for Sin to give us Forgiveness and Righteousness

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (ESV).

Jesus’ declaration, “It is finished,” means that the debt of sin has been paid in full. On the cross, He took our sin upon Himself so that we could be forgiven and made right with God. This is the essence of grace: Jesus paid the price, and we are set free. We are no longer bound by our sin or guilt. Instead, we are declared righteous and invited into a personal relationship with God.

Do you sometimes feel like you need to “earn” God’s forgiveness? How does Jesus’ finished work change that mindset?

Prayer: Father God, Thank You for the forgiveness and righteousness that are mine through Christ. I no longer have to strive to earn Your love because Jesus has already paid the full price. Help me to live in the freedom of knowing that my debt is paid and I am made righteous by His finished work. In Jesus name, Amen.

About this Plan

Paid in Full

In John 19:30, Jesus uttered the powerful words, “It is finished.” This wasn’t a cry of defeat but of victory, declaring the completion of His mission on earth. Over four days, we explore what it means that Jesus has “Paid in Full” the debt of our sin, secured our healing, and guaranteed our blessing. Let us deepen our understanding of His finished work on the cross and it's significance in our daily lives.
