DAY 4 OF 25

Day 4- The Wind Inside My Sails

Discover: Direction in life is something not easily found, yet the author of Psalms is steadfast in his request to God to reveal to him the right path. As well in Acts, Paul reminds us that it is in Christ alone that we are even able to live a life according to God’s Word. These verses highlight the reality that our very lives, our movement, and our existence are sustained by God. Just as the wind fills the sails of a boat and drives it forward, God’s presence and power propel us through life.

Learn: What is it that motivates you, that thing that drives you forward daily? As Christians, like boats on the waves, we are to be propelled forward by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. In “King of My Heart”, the lyric in verse two, "The Wind inside my sails" paints a vivid picture of God as the driving force behind everything we do. Without wind, a sailboat would be stranded, motionless on the water. In the same way, without God, we would lack the direction and strength to move forward in our lives. Worshiping God as the "Wind inside my sails" means recognizing that He is the source of our strength, purpose, and momentum. It’s easy to try to power through life on our own, relying on our abilities or plans. However, true worship involves surrendering control and allowing God to guide and empower us. When we do this, we invite Him to fill our lives with His presence, giving us the energy and direction we need to navigate the challenges and opportunities we face. Through a life of worship, you have the opportunity to tap into the authority and power of God. By singing God’s truth, by living a life worthy of the calling of God, we can have confidence that our lives are moving in the right direction, towards our heavenly Father.

Apply: For me, when choose to have a worshipful moment, I am often uplifted and encouraged to continue, fighting the good fight, pursuing the Lord. It is at times like that as if a wind is lifting me, so to speak, instead of being dragged down by the burdens of the world. Today, take some time to reflect on the areas of your life where you might be trying to rely on your strength rather than God’s. What would it look like to recognize God’s "Wind inside your sails"? Consider starting your day with a prayer of surrender, asking God to guide your actions, decisions, and thoughts. Make worship a daily practice by acknowledging that He is the one who empowers you to live fully and purposefully.

Worshiping Jesus should be a place of power and guidance.

· In what areas of your life are you relying on your strength instead of God’s?

· What does it mean to you to surrender control and let God guide your life?

· How can worship help us surrender control and rely on God’s direction?

· How can you make space in your daily routine to invite God to fill your sails and direct your path?
