You Are Not Alone

DAY 3 OF 3

Elijah was an Old Testament prophet who battled with loneliness.

In 1 Kings he slayed all of King Ahab's prophets after proving that the God of Israel was the one true God. Still, after achieving this great feat he succumbed to fear and fled for his life shortly after.

However, after taking the time to speak with God in seclusion and utter solitude, he learned that even though he felt he was all alone, God had preserved a remnant that had remained faithful - just like him. Not to mention, God Himself had never left Elijah's side.

Similarly, we cannot hide from God and He never hides from us. This means even when we feel like nobody understands us, or we’re the only ones left, we are never truly alone. And the best part is, the Lord always extends us a personal invitation to dwell in his presence.

Friends, whenever you are feeling lonely remember that the experience is not a permanent state of being. Like Elijah, your perception of your situation may not be completely accurate. Loneliness has a way of distorting your reality by fogging your mind with feelings of gloom that are triggered by isolation or solitude.

When we choose to dwell in God's presence instead of sulking in solitude, He can renew our minds and change our perspective so we can see and understand the bigger picture: We are never alone.
