Lifting Our Eyes: The Power of Prayer and Gratitude

DAY 3 OF 3

Over the past two days, we have explored the beautiful tapestry of prayer, gratitude, and community, and how God uses each to bring His kingdom to earth—in our minds and in our lives. Today, we are going to look at one more group of believers and see how they interacted with prayer and with one another.

In the early church, we see the embodiment of Paul's commands in Colossians—a perfect picture of what it looks like to let gratitude, prayer, and God’s work guide how we live together. In the days of Acts, believers were in close proximity. By the time of the Colossae church, Paul could write letters to reach the masses. Today, the body of Christ is wider than ever before, spread across every continent on Earth. While the body has expanded, it can also feel disconnected. How often do we think about churches in Romania or Singapore?

What if we could sing together, encourage one another with the Word, and pray and thank God for every part of the body—together?

Well, we actually can on March 1, 2025, during Gather25. This 25-hour broadcast event will invite the 2.5 billion Jesus-followers on Earth to join together in prayer, repentance, and an opportunity to tell the story of the global Church.

This is a stunning dream of believers from all over the world, and Acts 2 is a perfect picture of the “why.” When believers come together, God moves in power. In the early church, as members devoted themselves to teaching and meeting one another's needs, God added to their number daily. The reason we gather is so that we can go out in His power to reach the world.

You’re invited to Gather25 and to be a part of this historic moment for the global Church!

About this Plan

Lifting Our Eyes: The Power of Prayer and Gratitude

In this plan, you'll be reminded of the importance of shifting our focus toward God’s promises through prayer. This 3-day plan explores how prayer widens our perspective, helps us trust God with our needs, and builds a foundation of gratitude in our daily lives. By centering on Scripture, you'll feel empowered to lift your eyes to God’s provision, cast your anxieties on Him, and engage in community for mutual support.
