Jonah

DAY 9 OF 28

Chapter 2 is Jonah’s prayer when he has reached his lowest point. Jesus tells the story of the prodigal son, who after running from the father, and when he was eating with the pigs, realized that even his father’s servants were better off than him. So the prodigal runs home to the father. As Jonah prays we see his heart begin to change. This is a prayer of thanksgiving, not a prayer of deliverance. He was thankful that he had not drowned. And even from the belly of a fish, God heard his prayer. There is no sin too great or predicament too difficult for God to hear your cries for Him.

About this Plan

Jonah

Jonah is a somewhat unique book because rather than focusing on Jonah's message, it focuses on his own story. In an age where many are deconstructing or questioning their faith because of perceiving God to be too strict, harsh, or un-loving (especially in the Old Testament), Jonah’s story stands as an example of God’s great love for humanity and redemptive purpose for the salvation of the whole world.
