Marketplace Generosity

DAY 3 OF 5

Generous with wisdom

Our God is generous in many ways, one of them is with His wisdom. If we seek Him from the heart, He provides us with just what we need to be able to decide in difficult moments, when we do not have all the necessary information, and when the urgency of the moment demands of us.

He also gives us specific instructions, gives us words of encouragement, and helps us to see new perspectives to function according to His designs. Likewise, He expects us to be generous to others who need some biblical counsel in times of difficulty, doubt, or discouragement.

As believers, we are also transfer instruments of His wisdom to those who need it. 2 Corinthians 1:4 says that God is "who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”

Wise and timely advice can save a life or a marriage, avoid an accident, prevent the bankruptcy of a business, and save emotional energy and even money.

A consultant knows what to do in an organization to change the culture or to make it sell more; a mechanic knows what it takes to fix a car; a gardener knows how to make a garden look good; an experienced mother knows tricks on how to make life more bearable for a new mother. But almost everyone charges for their services or advice since many times they live from that or from there they get for their sustenance.

Have you thought about helping someone with your professional knowledge or accumulated wisdom without charging anything in return? How can you be generous with the wisdom God has given you when someone around you needs it? Remember, that is generosity too.

For Reflection: God gives us His wisdom to use and share.
