Totally: Getting to Know Our Knowing, Present, Capable, Caring God

DAY 19 OF 19

Jesus was fully God and fully man (see John 1:1,14). Jesus was tempted in every way we are tempted but never sinned (see Hebrews 4:15). When Jesus died on the cross, His blood served as payment for the sin of all mankind (see Ephesians 1:7). When Jesus rose from the grave, His resurrection conquered death. It made eternal life possible for all mankind (see Hebrews 2:14). All we have to do to take advantage of the rescue God offers through Jesus is put our faith in Him for salvation (see Romans 10:9-10, 13). When we do, God’s Holy Spirit comes to live in our hearts (see 1 John 4:13). We get to enjoy constant communion with God just like He intended when He created Adam and Eve.

Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s New Covenant and every covenant before.

Jesus was the fulfillment of God’s promise to Adam and Eve (see Genesis 3:15). Satan attacked Jesus, but Jesus won by dying on the cross and rising again. Adam’s sin brought death, but Jesus’s death and resurrection brought eternal life (see Romans 12:5).

Jesus fulfilled God’s promise to Abraham (see Genesis 12:1-3). Jesus came from Abraham’s family and blessed all people by making it possible for us to know God.

Jesus fulfilled God’s promise to Noah (see Genesis 9:8-11). God didn’t flood the world but sent Jesus to save it (see John 3:17).

Jesus fulfilled God’s promise to Moses (see Exodus 19:1-6). The Law revealed our inability to obey God (see Romans 3:23), so God established a sacrificial system, but sacrifices had to keep being made. Jesus became the once-and-for-all sacrifice necessary to bring people into right relationship with God forever (see Romans 6:10).

Jesus fulfilled God’s promise to David (see 2 Samuel 7:8-16). A descendant of King David, Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He reigns over heaven and earth forever.

Jesus didn’t do away with the Old Covenant (Mosaic Covenant). He simply satisfied it so it no longer has power over us. We don’t have to be perfect. He was perfect for all of us. All we have to do is continue to put our faith in Him and enjoy the blessings of God as God always intended because God is TOTALLY love (see John 3:16).

Day 18

About this Plan

Totally: Getting to Know Our Knowing, Present, Capable, Caring God

Human relationships are almost always messy because people are involved, but God isn’t people. God is God. He is completely, TOTALLY different. If our relationship to/with Him is ever messy, it's only because we made it that way. We invite you to put aside any assumptions you've made about God and let Him speak for Himself. We think you’ll find that He is much easier to trust than people.
