Glory: Giving God What He Deserves

DAY 1 OF 6

God’s glory is deep. Because God is perfect and we are not, He sees things we don’t see, knows things we don’t know, and understands things we don’t understand. Truth? He’s too deep for us. This can be a little scary, but it doesn’t have to be.

The fact that God is perfect and sees what we don’t see, knows what we don’t know, and understands what we don’t understand means we can trust Him more than we can trust ourselves or anyone else to say what is true and do what is right. We can rely on Him.

Fortunately, God invites us into the deep of His perfection (Jeremiah 33:3). When we cooperate with Him by applying the faith He provides to follow Him in obedience, the terror we might have felt in His awesome presence turns to fascination, and what might have made us nervous becomes a source of comfort instead. Of course, the first step of obedience in any relationship with God is trusting in His plan for salvation from the consequences of sin.

God, in His wisdom, chose to save the world in a way no human being would ever have chosen. He sent His own Son, Who never sinned, to pay for the sins of many. In doing so, God revealed His divine goodness, grace, mercy, and justice so the world would worship Him for it.

When we accept God’s gift of salvation by surrendering control of our lives to Him through faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection, we both honor God and baffle those who resist His forgiveness, and that’s just as God planned it. If everyone understood and agreed with His methods, He might not get the praise and recognition He deserves. As it stands, God is a mystery. He stands out, above, apart. He does not share His glory with anyone else.

Day 2

About this Plan

Glory: Giving God What He Deserves

God’s glory is His divine perfection on display or the worship He deserves in response. Because it's the motivation behind everything God does, it should be the motivation behind everything we do. In this study, we’ll look at Who God is and what He’s done, then consider what He deserves from us in response. Once you know what life’s really about, you can make sure yours counts toward something eternal!
