DAY TWO: WORLDWIDE REVIVAL

“For this is what the high and exalted one says – He who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.” – Isaiah 57:15

Have you ever stopped to think about where God lives? Do it with us, for just a moment. The same way you describe where you live when someone asks, let's do the same for God. Isaiah 57 does a pretty great job of describing it – God lives in a high and holy place. Revelation tells us that God’s house is made of gold and pearl and that the walls are made of fine stone. Everywhere you look, God’s house is filled with the purest of light. More than visually though, God lives in a place with no pain, no suffering, no sorrow, no disappointment. God lives in a place of peace. Now, with that visual in your head, read these words again: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.”

Doesn’t that truth just make you want to shout it from the rooftops? While we live here on Earth, broken and sinful in nature, The Most High still desires to know us, despite our brokenness. And He intends to revive our spirits and hearts, no matter how broken they are when we turn to Him.

Over the last year, we have spent a significant amount of time reflecting on what it is God has called us to do. As a band, we’ve wondered – Why do we travel all year, spending countless days away from our families? Why do we spend hours writing, working, singing, and recording music that some people just don’t like? Why do we continue on, despite hurtful social media comments?

We continue on because God has called us to share that good news with anyone who will listen.

And thus, Worldwide Revival was born. A song we started writing as a prayer, that turned into an anthem. It’s a reflection of why we’re still pursuing this music thing after three decades, and a hope for our future as we continue to walk in our calling.

You may not be called to a career in music. In fact, you probably aren’t! But you ARE called to something intentionally designed by God for you. Consider your own calling for a minute. Where is it that God is sending YOU? How can you be part of reminding the people in your world that the King of Kings desires to revive their hearts? Maybe it’s in your school, or in an office building, or with your children at home. Wherever it may be, God has placed you there. Let Him breathe life into your bones and start a fire in your soul. You can be part of starting a revival.
