Fearfully Made- a 3 Day Devotional for Young BoysSample
Imagine you're the captain of a spaceship exploring the vast universe. You're on a mission to discover new planets and solve space mysteries. But even the bravest captains need help sometimes, especially when they come across tough challenges. The good news is, there's a way to get the best help possible—by asking for wisdom from God.
The Space Mission
In the depths of space, you encounter a strange planet with two paths. One path looks easy and fun, filled with lights and music. The other path looks less exciting but leads to a treasure that will help everyone on your spaceship. You're not sure which path to choose. This is when you remember a secret weapon—asking God for wisdom.
God's Promise
James 1:5 tells us that if we need wisdom, we should ask God for it. God is like a generous king who loves to give good gifts to His people. He promises to give wisdom to anyone who asks, helping them make the best decisions, just like choosing the right path on the mysterious planet.
How to Ask for Wisdom
Asking for wisdom from God is simple. You can pray, which means talking to God like He's your best friend. You can say, "God, I'm not sure which choice is the best. Please help me see the right way." And the amazing thing is, God listens and answers, giving you the wisdom you need.
Reflection Questions
- Can you think of a time when you wished you knew the right thing to do? What would you ask God for wisdom about now?
- What are some ways you can talk to God and ask Him for wisdom every day?
Prayer
Dear God, thank You for promising to give us wisdom when we ask. Sometimes I'm not sure what the best choice is, but I know You can help me. Please give me wisdom to make good decisions that help others and please You. Amen.
As our space adventure continues, remember that God's wisdom is always just a prayer away. Whether you're facing a tricky decision or just wondering what to do next, God is ready to guide you with His generous wisdom. Tomorrow, we'll explore the strength that wisdom gives us in "The Strength of Wisdom" from Ecclesiastes 7:19.
