The Heart of a Man

We all hate to be exposed against our will. However, God will often allow us to be exposed so He can open up those broken places in our hearts that need healing. God always gives us a choice, to allow Him to take control and bring healing or to fight back kicking and screaming.

Hopefully, you are leaning towards the “allow God to be in control” option. In doing so, it is important to note that even after admitting your pose, it can still be easy to slip back into that old, comfortable man. So how do we truly crucify our flesh? How do we get rid of that old sinful nature? How do we lay the poser to rest?

In my life, it has been very difficult to pose regarding marriage and lust because my wife and I have devoted the past several years to sharing our story and helping other couples rebuild after an affair. Once you can be totally open, honest, and transparent with some other men, you will quickly see the freedom take hold. You will breathe the “fresh air” of restoration. Invite Jesus into those broken areas of your heart for healing.

After there has been some healing, start sharing your story to help others who are hurting, afraid and posing. When you are being transparent and not posing, you give others the hope for freedom and forgiveness. That’s the true Gospel of Christ.

Step 2: Take some time in prayer and ask Jesus to come in and heal the brokenness in your life.

Step 3: Tell your story to others. This helps them and helps you.
