The road to freedom in the training of the warrior is that you learn to exercise your strength against the agreements. Christ tells us He will never leave us. He is always with us. We have the power to rebuke and reject the accusations of our enemy. We must consciously, actively and with the authority of Jesus Christ, break these agreements designed to keep us in bondage.

Think about an agreement that you have made. Something that comes up frequently derails you. My personal example comes from the wound of powerlessness. My enemy tries to take me back to that place of helplessness. I hear, “You can’t overcome that. It’s bigger than you. There is nothing you can do about it. You just have to accept that you have no options.” The accusation is scripted to my wound.

However, I now have a choice in how I respond. I say NO! That is an agreement. That is an attack. My Father has given me power against the accusations. In the name of Jesus Christ, I break the agreement of powerlessness. That is not who God says I am. Each time I rebuke the enemy, I receive freedom in Christ and become a better warrior. My skills to fight become honed. I become lethal to the enemy. Consequently, as I become more lethal through the power of Jesus Christ, the attacks will get more vicious and more subtle. In a real sense, you move from open warfare to guerrilla warfare.

Yet through it all, you have a Father, Brother, and Counselor who will never leave or forsake you. You have what it takes. You are your Father's son. The question for every man is this: Are you ready to become who you are?
