7 Devotions to Lead Day by Day and Night by NightSample
Celebrating to Lead
It is important to celebrate with great joy and intentionality what the Lord accomplishes with and through the people. So the Levites were brought from their places of service to celebrate the rebuilding of the wall around Jerusalem (Nehemiah 12:27–43).
Many leaders and organizations do not take the time to consider their accomplishments and celebrate their wins together. Unfortunately, busyness in life and leadership seem to fight against it. Is celebrating the successes and achievements of others and the organization you serve a part of your culture?
I realize there are ongoing challenges in leading others and organizations. I know that too often, this results in not having enough time to stop and celebrate. However, I learned many years ago that scheduling a time to celebrate with all my employees just once a quarter could reap extraordinary benefits. You can make the celebration fun, and you can also bring serious recognition to it when needed. We are never any better than the people around us, so let’s celebrate them and all they have done together for the organization and God.
Declare: I will create ways to celebrate the wins in leadership.
Oh God, I want to be a leader who is celebrating the successes of our organization. Amen.
