5 Prayers for the Christian SingleSample
Heartbreak
Psalm 147:3
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Psalm 34:18
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Wouldn’t it be amazing if the first person you dated turned into your life-long partner? While that is some people’s reality, for many of us, the path of love is rarely straightforward. We go through a few heartbreaks before finding our forever person.
These moments of pain and loss are not only challenging but can deeply test our faith and patience. As a Christian, you’re trying to trust in God’s perfect plan for your dating journey, but that doesn’t mean a broken heart isn’t painful.
In the midst of heartbreak, we are called to remember a profound truth: God is close to the brokenhearted. He doesn't dismiss our pain or expect us to simply move on without healing. Instead, He offers His presence as a source of comfort and healing, binding up the wounds left by lost love.
Trusting in God's plan for our romantic lives doesn't remove the pain of a broken heart, but it does offer a beacon of hope. It's a reminder that our story isn't over and that God is working even in our most painful moments to bring about good.
The best thing you can do in these moments is lean into your relationship with God. Allow Him to be your source of comfort and strength. Remember, He is crafting a story of redemption and love for your life that is beyond what you can imagine.
A Prayer for the Christian Single With a Broken Heart
God–
I’m sad, confused, and heartbroken right now. But I know You're with me in this hurt, and that's comforting. Help me remember that this pain is just temporary and that Your love for me is constant and healing. Guide me to see this as a chance to grow and learn, even if it's hard right now. Please show me how to trust Your plan, even when it doesn't make sense.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
