The Wellness Revelation 21-Day Journey

DAY 10 OF 21

Rest In His Strength and Sufficiency

LIVING MINDFULLY

What does it look like to rest in God’s strength and sufficiency?

The weight loss we want to achieve here will not be found in endless striving and restricting but in rest and patience.

In The Wellness Revelation, we are striving for more than weight loss. We want a life gained. A life of freedom. A life that gets its power and strength from the Source, where no mountain is too high, and no valley is too low. When we have life, we can give life.

The choices we make every day have consequences. Jesus promised that “blessed…are those who hear the word of God and obey it” (Luke 11:28). If we do as God commands, we have done all we can to avoid negative consequences.

This is not to say that bad things won’t happen to good people. But even then, we can find peace and purpose when we remain humble and teachable, willing to display God’s glory in our suffering while maintaining our faith in His goodness.

Only through mindfulness – living intentionally – can we keep our minds set on things above so we remember that we belong to Christ and are His agents of change here on earth. Living with this mindset reminds us that every choice we make is important.

When we learn to slow down and stop living on autopilot, we are more aware of the choices we make, the words we say, and the actions we take. We become engaged in and fully present to life. We remember we have God’s good favor even in the most challenging circumstances. We develop a mind like Christ and a mind for Christ.

Reflect:

Are you living on autopilot? If so, what is one thing you can do today to become more mindful of your thoughts, words, and actions?
