Running From Myself

DAY 2 OF 3

DURING CHANGE

Coming to God and asking Him to change you from the inside out isn’t like a magic wand being waved and ta-da! For some, it may feel like that but for me, it was a journey of change, and it still is. Knowing God will begin to show you that there is a purpose for your life. From the start that changes everything. I have a purpose, and you have a purpose, so what we do each day matters in the grand scheme of God's plan for our lives.

This means we can stop before we start making that new plan that’s going to make us feel good or help us temporarily escape a situation. How does our plan fit in with the plan God has for us? We can only know that by reading and studying his word, the bible. By praying and spending time with fellow believers in church and small group settings.

There is a beautiful well-known verse in the book of Jeremiah, that God plans to give us a future and hope. But it’s important to read today's Bible verses which encourage us to seek Him with all our heart. God plans to give us a future, but he asks us to seek Him will all of our heart, not to be passive in this plan but as we seek Him his plan unfolds. As we trust Him, as we acknowledge him along the way he will make our paths straight. How refreshing when your paths behind you may have been anything but straight!

Coming from a life of pain and sorrow, I was encouraged to read in God’s word that He works all things together for good for those who are called according to his purpose. Knowing that there wasn’t always a reason that those bad things happened to me as the saying goes but that God could use it all for good. Nothing would be wasted. My story would not define me, but it would help shape the things I’m passionate about.

Day 1Day 3

About this Plan

Running From Myself

Have you ever felt like you wanted to run away from a situation, a place, a person, or even yourself? Have you tried everything and don’t know where to turn? Maybe you’ve been told that you will never be able to change. This plan will look at how we can move from desiring change to being dramatically changed and staying changed.
