Good Friday
As I grew up, I would always remember the Good Friday services as the barrier to Easter. Once they were over, Easter was right around the corner. I would always look forward to the eggs and candy and lunch with my family. But Good Friday is one of the most important days in the history of humanity. It is a weighty day. We see that weight in the mourning and mocking of the people around Christ. We see this in how the earth reacted to his death. To those around Christ, this was the end. There was no hope, joy, or gladness. Looking back as modern-day Christians, we can easily look past the weight of the death of Christ, especially since we know that he would be back in three days.
But let us consider the importance of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. The pain and anguish that Jesus felt on the cross is unimaginable. He suffered for the sins of all humanity. It was on behalf of our failures, choices, and inability to save ourselves that Christ suffered more than anyone before or after. So as you enter into today, rejoice for you know that there is hope in Christ, but recognize that today is a day of remembrance. Reflect often on Christ’s love for you today.

About this Plan
Join us as we seek to engage in Holy Week in a more meaningful way. These devotionals will have verses associated with what Christ did each day leading up to the crucifixion. As well as ways that you can personally reflect and act on what you have read.
