Suggestion

4. It is of utmost importance to move from information to obedience. Studying the Bible gives information and revelation. Obedience is the practical application. Discuss how to apply what you have discovered.

6. Can you think of people who may benefit from these studies? Contact them. Encourage them to gather four people and do this series of Bible Studies.

What Jesus said about God the Holy Spirit

Scripture passages to study: John 14:16-31 and John 16:5-15

To study these passages, use the following three questions:

1. What do we learn about God from this passage? (How is God revealing Himself to us in this passage: His character, works, commands, and promises?)

2. What do I learn about myself or people from this passage? (What is God expecting from me? What needs to change in my life? What are my responsibilities?).

3. How can I apply and integrate these truths in my life? (How must I obey God? How can I be a blessing to other people? What and for whom can I pray from this passage?).

Information to obedience: After studying John 14:16-31 and John 16:5-15, what do you sense the Holy Spirit is saying and asking you to do? Because it is God speaking here, you have to respond. You need to transition from information to obedience here: What must change in my life? Is there something that I sense – in the light of these Scripture passages – that I need to do in the coming week? How can you be a blessing to other people around you? Be very specific.
