DAY 12 OF 25

No Longer Thirsty

“You don’t know me!” That is a popular phrase to say these days when we are challenged by someone. In the same way, the Woman at the Well was shocked when Jesus, a stranger to her, knew all about her broken life. He knew she went from man to man, had broken marriages time after time, and about her bad reputation. Jesus took the conversation to a deeper place and addressed her real needs. See, He knew her intimately. And He knew her need for what He called, "Living Water". “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” Jesus wants all who are thirsty for the deep satisfaction of eternal life and forgiveness to come to Him. In the Messiah (Savior) we find water for a new life. He takes broken people and makes them new.

THINK and PRAY:

Where has God met you?

Where was the “Well" where God met you? God has a wide variety of ways to get our attention. Has He used a person to call you out on your need for Him? Circumstances often are ways to get our attention as well. The Woman at the Well was not satisfied. Five men later, she was still searching. But after meeting Jesus the Messiah she ran to the very town that most likely looked down upon her and said, “Come meet the man I met who told me everything I ever did! Could this be the Savior of the World?” She met Jesus and that meant she met the Living Water who would satisfy all of her needs now and for eternity. No matter the way God meets us, you can know it is God meeting with you when you are pointed to the Person of Jesus Christ. He made known to the Woman at the Well - and her whole town that day - that the Savior of the World had come…and He came to save us! Have you believed and received the Living Water - the eternal life offered by Jesus Christ?
