Small Matters: Becoming Faithful With Little

DAY 4 OF 5

One Degree North

I have always been fascinated with aviation because of my big brother, who used to be a commercial pilot. There is an aviation principle called the 1 in 60 Rule, which states if a plane is off course by one degree, then for every 60 miles it travels, it will be off course by one nautical mile. Being off course by one mile or one degree seems like a minor deal, but when travelling over a long distance, this navigational error over time results in ending up at an entirely different destination. What a stark reminder of how little things compounded over time make a big difference for better or worse.

Sometimes in life, we can wind up going in the wrong direction and end up living a life that is not what God intended for us. But we don't have to stay there and conclude such is life. On the contrary, God has made allowances for our mistakes, and by his grace, we can make the changes that allow us to course correct and get back on track. In Jeremiah 8:4, God reminds his people, "When people fall down, don't they get up again? When they discover they are on the wrong road, don't they turn back?" It's never too late to get up and make the necessary changes in your life with God's help. It may seem overwhelming and challenging, but if you make small incremental changes for the better, you will gradually transform your life.

What changes do you need to make in your life? Try breaking down the change into smaller actionable steps and chip away at it consistently. Ask God to help you make these changes because he says, "Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand," Isaiah 41:10.

About this Plan

Small Matters: Becoming Faithful With Little

This plan will help you adopt a new perspective that can unlock the potential inherent in small opportunities. The plan encourages you to become faithful with the little that you have as you grow your capacity to steward more. God wants us to be good stewards of what he has given us, but it starts with valuing what we have and putting it to work.
