Shift and Say Yes to Your Next

DAY 1 OF 5

What Next???

We live in a world that doesn’t prepare us for the future. For change. Yet the shifting sands of time demand that we learn how to stand even when it feels as if we are losing our footing. It’s been said that “life happens” and indeed it does. Faster than we expect or would prefer. I’ve seen it and experienced it. One day, you are hot; the next day, you are not. Cycles of thriving give way to merely surviving. Financial affluence gives way to seasons of leanness that leave you praying for daily bread.

What is the difference between those who flounder and those who flourish in the seasonal transitions of life that confront us as time marches on? It’s the ability to understand and address the season you are in and assess its purpose. Clinging to the past stops us from having the future that awaits us. Life is an ongoing process. What appears to be the end is never the end. That roadblock, that failure, or that seeming denial is merely a detour to your next!

What do you do when life seems to slow to a halt? When the things that worked before stop working? When the phone stops ringing? When you experience rejection, betrayal, or denial? When the demand for what you did slows to a trickle or is no longer there? You feel irrelevant, voiceless, obsolete. What then?

Does it mean you no longer have a purpose? A reason to keep on living or dreaming? Absolutely not!

In the business world, moving forward past obstacles is called change management. In our personal world, we call it making the necessary adjustments. In the spirit realm, it’s called pressing on to reach the heavenly prize.

The end of an era as you know it is an amazing opportunity to discover new dimensions of yourself and your ability to reinvent yourself. An honest assessment and appreciation of the seasons of life help you to transition and weather each twist and turn with grace.

Life can start again. And here’s the exciting part: it can be better than it was before! What was is past and so much more awaits. So raise yourself up to your full height and declare with confidence, “Next!”

Let’s Talk About It:

What change are you presently facing?

What has been your response?

What mindset do you need to adopt?

Day 2

About this Plan

Shift and Say Yes to Your Next

We all face unexpected changes in life that may fill us with dread rather than delight. But Michelle McKinney Hammond suggests that it’s possible to shift your point of view and regard any change as a chance, an opportunity for something better. “Whether you are ready or not, shift happens,” she says. “It’s not the end. There’s always a next!”
