Different Life: 7th Commandmentნიმუში

It’s not enough to not take things outright. God wants us to go further. In his Small Catechism, Martin Luther will say: “We should fear and love God so that we do not take our neighbor’s money or possessions, or get them in any dishonest way, but help him to improve and protect his possessions and income.”
Did you catch that? It’s not just about taking things. It’s about improving and protecting the possessions and livelihoods of others too. It’s what it looks like to be different.
The Bible has so much to say about this! Today, read some passages about how God wants us to help others survive, thrive, and prosper. As you do, share one or two ways you’ll put it in play.
About this Plan

Christians are different. They can’t help it. When you’re born again and filled with the Spirit, it changes you. This leads to different values about right and wrong, and a different lifestyle to match it. This series of 5-day plans uses the 10 Commandments (following the classic Augustinian ordering) as a vehicle for an alternative, Christ-like morality and Jesus-way of living.
