Jesus Style Leadership 3 - Crop & Faith

DAY 5 OF 20

Fit for Purpose

Leadership Lesson

God has designed us carefully and lovingly. We are fit for purpose.

Read Psalm 139:13–16.

Comment

At the end of this song (139:23–24), David says that he wants to be an open book that God can search and test at any time. David knows that God sees everything, and he has complete confidence that God wants the best for him. In this section of the psalm, David recounts his creation by the God who has formed him. God doesn’t make mistakes when he designs us. He knows us fully from the day we are conceived until the day we leave this earth (and beyond). He has many important things he wants us to do and has given us all that we need to achieve this Crop with His help. You have been wonderfully made for your calling as a Jesus-style leader. This can be hard to believe sometimes because we are so aware of our weaknesses and failures. It seems that other leaders are much more capable than us. However, it’s encouraging to know that God has made us wonderfully and is with us in every opportunity and challenge that comes our way. You have been made just right for God‘s plans for you. When God created you, he did an incredible job. You have no reason to pretend or hide. God made you fit for His purpose for you.

Prayer

You created my inmost being; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Personal Reflection

Read (preferably aloud) through this passage slowly, at least three times. Let the words sink deeply into your spirit.
