The Final JourneySample
Shipwrecked
Paul gains the ear of the ship’s captain, and the entire crew is spared during a shipwreck.
Read: Acts 27:27-44 (NLT)
Explore the Theme: Paul was on a ship heading for disaster, yet in the midst of the storm, Paul was very calm. Since the whole ship was in the presence of a child of God, their lives were spared. Paul had peace because he had the assurance of Christ. He even gave thanks to God in the presence of everyone on the ship. Imagine in the middle of a storm someone stopping to break bread and give thanks to God. What does Paul’s calmness tell you about God? How does Paul’s response challenge you?
Ask God: In the middle of a crazy storm where people all around Paul were fearful for their lives, Paul was not fearful. He was confident. He actually encouraged the people on the ship and they ended up eating with Paul. Ask God to give you confidence and peace in him so that you can encourage others.
Live it Out: Our response to difficult circumstances affects those around us. We can either encourage panic in others or we can bring about peace in the middle of a storm. Which influence do you want to be? Spend some time in prayer, surrendering your will to God and asking God to give you the necessary confidence in him so that you can be an encouragement to those around you.

About this Plan
(Part four of a four part journey through the Books of Acts.) Even in (and especially in?) hard times, God is present and is working to build His Church. We can find encouragement in this. When circumstances force us to pivot, we don’t have to lose heart - God is with us.
