Knowing Him By Name

DAY 3 OF 25

The Word

With your kids, inflate several balloons. Put the balloons on a table and blow them around. Can you see the breath that fills the balloons or moves them?

Things such as our breath and words aren’t seen, but they can make things happen. God’s words are even more powerful than ours. He spoke and created everything in the universe. Only God can do that. That’s part of the reason that Jesus is called the “Word.” He existed before the world was created. God made all things through the Word, who is Jesus. Jesus is the source of all things.

About this Plan

Knowing Him By Name

As Matthew 20:28 tells us, "the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many." Families can follow Christ's example by serving others. For each day of Advent, we have found scripture and a family activity or conversation to talk about and show what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus, so that we may all "Know Him By Name."
