The book of Titus was Paul’s letter to Titus to go into Crete and restore order. Paul felt as if Crete was the perfect place to start a network of churches, but these churches fell under the influence of corrupt Creten leaders, who called themselves Christians but were destroying the churches.

Titus’s role was to go and set things straight, and the whole book of Titus provided his instructions. Titus had to deliver the message of “hope for eternal life” through the Messiah Jesus Christ. Paul wanted to show that Jesus came to do things in a whole new way. His basic character traits are to be faithful and true. This means our new way of living will also be about the truth.

We are called to be set apart and to go out and make disciples of His children. A Child of God has traits that automatically set them apart from the average human being who is not in an intimate relationship with the Father.

As newborn Christians, we are constantly functioning in the character of God. When we are faced with situations, we need to be above reproach, demonstrating how to handle demanding situations in the opposite spirit to what the world would have done.

We need to spread the Good News and share God’s love for His children. We should settle for nothing less than what God expects of us, knowing that His perfect plans are the ultimate plans for our lives. It is easier said than done, and there will be days when being above reproach will be a bit difficult, but rest assured, you are not alone; we have received the Holy Spirit to guide us in the direction of His perfect will.

Strive, therefore, to be above reproach and to allow God’s perfect character to work through you and minister to the people around you so that you can change your community and the places you function into a place where the transforming presence of God is known.
