The Prayer Request of Christ; "Making an Impact Through Sending Prayers."

DAY 5 OF 5

Day Five: Impacting The World

The Apostle John wrote, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him” (1 John 5:14-15, NIV). Those verses promise that whenever our prayers align with the will of God, they are not only heard, they are also granted (albeit in God’s perfect time). As we pray “sending prayers” we can do so with the faith that these prayers will be answered. How do we know? Because it was a prayer given by Jesus who never thought, said, or did anything outside the will of God (John 6:38).

Over a billion people in the world are considered unreached or lesser reached with the good news of Christ. With respect to that, any follower of Jesus can have an impact on those nations and people groups through “sending prayers.” You and I can pray for those nations with the certainty that God is going to answer and send a worker to share the good news of Christ. Closer to home, perhaps a family member or friend won’t listen to your witness. If that's the case, you can ask the Lord to send someone to whom they will listen. So, whether it’s a family member or friend, a business, or a school, or any person or place, all Christ-followers can help spread the gospel through “sending prayers.”

As this devotional concludes, consider spending time to prayerfully reflect on the people, places, or nations on your heart. By praying for these people and regions, asking the Lord to send workers into this specific harvest field, you can have a Kingdom impact at home and around the world.

Day 4

About this Plan

The Prayer Request of Christ; "Making an Impact Through Sending Prayers."

When Jesus said that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few, he also provided the initial step for solving this dilemma. “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” (Matthew 9:37-38, Luke 10:2, NIV). This plan examines how praying “sending prayers,” enables followers of Jesus, to have an impact in advancing the gospel.
