Being Made Whole Through The GospelSample
No Fear, Just Perfect Peace
Reflect:
It is so tempting to fear, isn’t it? Fear is a natural reaction to the sin-ridden world that we are living in. Elections, financial instability, broken relationships, failed expectations and more guide us to a place of fear and usually end in a place of unbelief. We question why. Why would God have it be this way when certainly He is able to intervene and certainly He is able to make things better?
The liberating truth is that none of it matters, but Him. None of the things that trip us up and cause unneeded pain and anxiety will matter in eternity. Fear and worry remind us that we have sunken our gaze from the Majestic and we’ve placed our hope in a system that has failed and will continue to.
At times, we misinterpret hardships as spiritual attacks or sin when, in reality, they are often God-ordained situations alerting us that we are holding onto the things of this world too tightly. As counter-intuitive as it sounds, we need regular reminders that we are simply passing through this life and our security is in the eternal.
When you find yourself in the valley of doubt and confusion, look to Him and find comfort in the eternal glory that awaits!
Pray:
Sweet Lord, thank You for allowing the harder moments to remind me that my confidence and security are only found in You. This world is not my home. Home is in You, with You, and where I belong. Amen.
Your Turn:
Do you struggle with fear? Are you consumed with negative news and discontent? It’s easy to find yourself there. Get in the Word and be reminded of the glory that Christ purchased for us.
