7 Key Points of the Gospel (Taken From Paul’s Letter to the Romans)

DAY 1 OF 8

The Gospel is life-changing

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16, ESV)

The letter to the Romans begins with a greeting from its author. He introduces himself as “Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God” (Romans 1:1). Paul's job was to share the Gospel with people who did not yet know it. His whole life was dedicated to that task.

In verse 16, Paul writes what makes the Gospel so special: it is God's saving power for everyone who believes. This statement makes it immediately clear why it is important for contemporary readers to hear the Gospel as well. It is literally ‘good news’ for people who are in need of salvation. And ultimately that applies to all of us, even though we may consider ourselves good and successful people... We will see this more fully later in Paul's letter to the Romans.

Because the Gospel is so important, over the next few days we want to highlight seven key points of this message based on Paul's letter. Can you name some points in advance that you think are essential? Why are they so important?
