Soul Shepherd

DAY 3 OF 7

John 10:11-14 paints an incredible scene of our Shepherd as good. His goodness is depicted through His knowing and being known by the sheep, just as He and the Father know one another. Think about it: Jesus is able to know us just as He knows God the Father. In Him, we have full access to God!

It is good to be known - truly known. What a simple statement that can hit you at your core if you are not allowing yourself to be known by God. It’s easy to feel as though you can hide who you truly are as a believer, but it’s often revealed in how you interact spiritually with your community. If you’re not willing to be known by the Jesus, the Good Shepherd, then you won’t be open to being known by others in your faith family.

If you are deficient or dormant in this area, you can trust that He’s known who you are all along, even in your distance.

Want to be known by the Good Shepherd? Listen for His voice. (Jn. 10:3) How do you do that? Spend time with Him today in His word, in prayer, on a walk, or in your car. Don’t get so wrapped up in your daily grind that you miss being known.

When you are known by the Good Shepherd, you can trust that He is shepherding your soul.

Read John 10:1-18. Open your heart to hear His voice and follow Him.

About this Plan

Soul Shepherd

When we receive Jesus, He not only becomes our Savior, but He also becomes our Shepherd as well. But how often do we stray from His guidance for our own way? Is that because we don’t understand the role of a shepherd in our modern lives? In this plan, we’ll look to the Word to reflect and respond by asking Jesus to be our Soul Shepherd in these modern times.
