Knowing God

DAY 1 OF 4

DESIRING AN INTIMATE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD

John 17:3 NIV

"Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."

Today's devotion emphasizes the importance of knowing God as the essence of salvation. We'll explore two ways to know Him: through Scripture and experience. Let's begin this journey with a desire for a deep, intimate knowledge of our Heavenly Father.

Knowing God is the primary essence of salvation. This simply means that the reason God saved us through Jesus Christ is so that we can know Him and have intimate fellowship with Him. It is safe to say that salvation is the threshold to a life of intimate knowledge of God.

There are two ways to know God:

1- through scriptures, and

2- through experience.

Both ways are very important and interwoven. We cannot know God experientially without studying the scriptures. Also, as we pay attention to the scriptures, it will lead us to a full and rich experiential knowledge of God.

Knowing God starts with a desire. As we desire to know Him, we will find out that He has been yearning to reveal Himself to us. Make up your mind today to desire a rich, full, and intimate knowledge of your Heavenly Father.

In conclusion, remember that your desire to know God is met with His yearning to reveal Himself to you. This desire is the first step towards a rich, full, and intimate knowledge of Him.
