Redirecting Resources and Outreach

Welcome to Day 2 of the Bible plan. Today, we will explore three crucial steps that come with a cost: redirecting resources, reevaluating our ministry, and redesigning our lifestyles.

Let's dive into these steps with relevant verses and reflections.

Step 1: Redirect the resources

Acts 1:8 - "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Reflect on the current allocation of resources in Christian outreach and evangelism. Unfortunately, statistics indicate that a significant percentage (91%) of these efforts primarily target Christians rather than non-Christians. Consider the impact of redirecting resources to effectively reach those who have not yet heard the Gospel.

Additionally, ponder the distribution of missionaries, where a large proportion (76%) serves in the reached world, while only a small percentage (1%) is focused on those who have never heard the Gospel. Pray for a shift in priorities to reach the unreached and unevangelized.

Step 2: Reevaluate our Ministry

Read Mark 11:12-14, where Jesus curses the unfruitful fig tree.

Reflect on the importance of evaluating our ministry practices.

Our goal should be to eradicate "Gospel poverty" and ensure that our efforts are aligned with spreading the good news effectively. Pray for wisdom to reevaluate our strategies, methodologies, and approaches, so that we may bear fruit for the Kingdom of God.

Step 3: Redesign our Lifestyle

Read Matthew 6:25, where Jesus teaches about not being anxious for our needs.

Consider the lifestyle of the Apostle Paul as described in 1 Corinthians 11:27. Paul dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the ministry, often sacrificing sleep, food, comfort, and security. Reflect on the story of CT Studd, who exemplified preaching the Gospel, sacrificing his own comfort, and leaving a lasting impact.

Evaluate your own lifestyle and how it aligns with the mission of spreading the Gospel. Pray for a willingness to embrace a sacrificial mindset, trusting God for provision while prioritizing the advancement of His Kingdom.
