Daily Bible Reading – July 2023, God’s Saving Word: Mercy and Forgiveness

DAY 1 OF 31

July 1

Introduction

This psalm begins with an affirmation of the happiness one experiences resulting from confession. What follows is a description of life in terms of before and after confessing one’s sins (Psalm 32:3-5). The writer encourages people to pray and concludes with praise for the LORD’s righteousness.

Scripture Reading

Psalm 32

Today’s Key Verse: Psalm 32:1

Reflect

Describe the psalm writer’s feelings before and after confession. Have you ever felt this way? If so, what were your thoughts at that time? In what ways have you experienced God’s forgiveness? What might you need to confess today?

Pray

Lord God, you are my hiding place. I turn to you in prayer in my time of need. Today I seek your forgiveness and confess _________________. I sing aloud of your salvation and rejoice because of your righteousness. Amen.
