God's 7 Promises for You

DAY 5 OF 7

Every valley will be filled

Today is a day with the potential for a miracle! I hope and pray that you are expectant and joyful as we wait for God’s miraculous breakthroughs together. Can we take a moment and tell God how much we are anticipating His work?

Jesus, we can't wait to see what You have for us today. Miracles are happening all around us, so please give us the eyes to see them. We pray for Your insight, Your discernment, and Your wisdom, as we look at Your promises in the coming moments. We are so grateful for Your promises. Amen.

Have you ever lost your way? When I was working my way through college, I spent a summer planting trees in northern Canada. One day, I lost my way while going to meet up with my fellow tree planters. In a matter of seconds, I became panicked. The trees, mountains, valleys, and all my surroundings all began to look the same. I stumbled across the rough ground praying and searching for a landmark, or some type of reference point, that could help me figure out where I was. I walked for what seemed like an eternity and then suddenly, and I believe miraculously, I walked out onto a road. I remember the road being clear, straight and well-traveled! Just around the corner were my co-workers. I said nothing because I didn’t want to be embarrassed, but I wished I had shared with them that Jesus helped me find my way to the road.

Being lost is not a pleasant feeling, but I remember the lesson I learned. God will always help you find the way home. Listen to one of my favorite promises:

“Every valley shall be filled in, every mountain and hill made low. The crooked roads shall become straight, the rough ways smooth.” (Luke 3:5, NIV)

Not only does God promise a way home, but He also promises to make the way smooth and straight. No matter how lost you may feel, or how bumpy the way may seem, God promises that the valleys of life will be filled to level and smooth ground and that the mountains that seem ominous will be brought low in the presence of Jesus. Jesus is our true north, today and every day. We can trust Him to light our path. I love the scripture from Psalm 119:

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105, NIV)

And listen to the promise that David makes in return-

I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.” (Psalm 119:106, NIV)

In light of God’s promises, take a moment and make a covenant with God to walk the path that He has for you today, and watch for all of the miracles He has for you along the way.

And that is exactly what you are, A Miracle.

Your friend,

Grant Fishbook
