Got Change?

DAY 33 OF 40

BEING TRUSTWORTHY

We humans are trusting creatures. We put our trust in people and things all the time. We hold onto that trust till it is broken. Trust when lost needs to be earned once again. Are we dependable; are people able to trust us?

This season, let us grow in being more trust worthy and dependable, like our God. In Ezekiel we read of a prophecy against Egypt because they did not hold up when Israel leaned on them. Ezekiel 29: 6-7…You have been a staff of reed for the people Israel. When they grasped you with their hands, you splintered and you tore open their shoulders; when they leaned on you, you broke and their backs were wrenched.

Therefore….
The question God made me ask myself when I read this portion of scripture is: How dependable am I? Are people able to trust me and my word? If they lean on me for help and support, do I hold up or do I instead hurt them? When I am assigned work, do people believe I will deliver in time or do they think twice to ask? Do they have to remind me or do they know I will do what I said I would? Am I trustworthy and dependable like my Father in heaven? Can God and people rely on me? Can they take me at my word? My constant endeavor is to answer those questions truthfully.

God will not lose trust in us and we shouldn’t either. Let us rise in becoming more responsible and sincere, more dependable and trustworthy, and not betraying the trust He has placed in us.

The CHALLENGE to Change:

Take a moment to analyze yourself – How dependable and trustworthy are you? Do you keep your word; your promises; your deadlines? Do you get the job done in time?
Remind yourself of areas where you have a responsibility and ask the Holy Spirit for help in a change of attitude, and a strategy to be able to grow in becoming more trustworthy and dependable.
If you are the kind who takes on more than you can chew, sit down and be realistic in taking on only what you can handle, make a plan and get the job done.

We keep talking about change, how much this world needs it. True change is not brought about by the formation of new laws, rather by the transformation of each one’s life. You will find in this Plan a reminder for each day of an area we need to change in and grow, prompting us into Christ likeness and becoming the change this world needs to see and emulate.
